surreal
Ateneo Human Rights Center Thank You-Welcome Dinner 2008. 14 march 2008. ALS Roofdeck.It really felt surreal to be handed the invitation to this year's thank you-welcome dinner of the Center. I realized that it was already 3 years since our batch (batch buyonero, summer 2005) was welcomed in the very same event. now, 3 years after TY-welcome 2005, and close to 3 years after summer of 2005, our (along with the other AHRC seniors) status as resident interns of AHRC will now (hopefully) come to an end.
i've said a lot of things about my experiences as an AHRC intern (from SIP 2005 to PLTs and development work to inuman nights and many many more), but after 3 years of being an intern and after almost 4 years of being a law student, i have no words to say but "THANK YOU!" to the Center (especially to sir chochoy, ma'am myrfi, our current internship director lyan, and kuya ryan) and to my fellow interns (especially to my batchmates, batchochoy [our facis], one pact, paglaum [our babies], and all the wonderful people in the Center)
to the newest summer interns, congratulations! you are about to start what could be the most memorable summer of your lives. you are the few and the chosen. you may not be as many, but always remember that you are blessed because not many people are willing to commit their entire summer to self-formation and to a worthy cause. may your summer 2008 be as fulfilling and memorable (if not more), as our summer 3 years ago.
