back home @ la salle
after 9 weeks of studying at rockwell, i felt i needed a change in scenery going into my 10th week of bar review. nakakasuka na rin sa rockwell and everything that comes with it. the decision to go to la salle to study was finalized when i went there to attend gawad mag-aaral two fridays ago (june 27). i thought i would be nice to be back home. so come monday, i hitched a ride with my brother and got off in front of the north gate. i entered the campus. no more familiar faces. i checked on how i looked. nakaka-blend in pa rin naman ako sa crowd. wow, feeling college ulit! hehe!
to sum up everything, the relatively-productive week was also filled with tons of reminiscing. i went to the library, conserv, medrano, and of course satrbucks at torre lorenzo. i don't remember studying at the conserv during my college days, and i actually don't remember stepping into the medrano hall before (pang mga kapitalistang CBE kasi yon. haha!) as for the library, the only times i remember going in there were 1. when required for a class (ex: audio-visual room), 2. for thesis purposes, and 3. to go to the 4th floor to sleep. well, starbucks in torre wasn't a new place for me. i used to study there, esp. those subjects which involved numbers, i.e. accounting, FINAMA, MATHAN1, QUATECH, and a host of other math subjects which never liked me. haha!
i also ate at the places where i used to eat: SPS, ate em's (yung sa beach), agno (taco salad and pasta!), mcdo, kfc, etc. tried some new places too, like flaming wings and the new place in front of the new br. andrew gonzales building.
the whole week in taft was a refreshing break, so to speak. after 4 years in rockwell, the noisy, fast-paced life in taft avenue easily came as something i actually missed. the faces have changed (and they're a lot younger), many places have been renovated or repainted, new edifices have been built, but the feel of walking through the hallways and the entire campus is still the same. it is really nice to be back home.
